Dr. Meyer is a native of Davenport, IA. He always wanted to work in health care and became interested in dentistry because of a neighbor’s older son who was a dentist.
He received his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Iowa in 1998 and was a classmate of Dr. Post at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. Dr. Meyer served at the VA hospital for several years, including as chief of dental services from 2010 to 2013. He was also an assistant professor at the UI College of Dentistry during this same period. After working in private practice in South Carolina for a few years, he joined our team in 2016.
Dr. Meyer is certified to administer inhaled sedation, local anesthetic, and CPR, AED, and first aid. He has additional training in OSHA and HIPAA compliance and Invisalign. Dr. Meyer always tries to go out of his way to help patients; he feels that’s why they enjoy coming to see him.
Dr. Meyer has been a dentist since 2003. Throughout his career, his favorite part of his job has been seeing patients transformed over a relatively short time, often after having dental problems for so long. He’s happy to be in Rochester and to have come full circle with Dr. Post since they were dental classmates and co-residents together.
When he isn’t chairside helping patients, you might find him watching baseball, golfing, enjoying the outdoors, traveling, watching movies, and spending time with his wife and their son.
