Dr. Praska grew up in a small farming town in North Dakota. He attended North Dakota State University and earned an undergraduate study in zoology. He spent six years at the University of Minnesota completing his dental studies and orthodontic residency. In July 1990, he joined the practice of Dr. Lloyd Truax, and they spent nearly 20 years practicing together.
Dr. Praska’s orthodontic passion is changing skeletal problems and making room for crowded teeth during growth so patients can be treated on a non-surgical and non-extraction basis. Airway issues are also huge now relating to sleep apnea issues as adults, so early expansion of very narrow maxillaes or upper jaws can be life-changing! The appliances Dr. Praska uses are very specific to our practice and have been honed and developed over the last 25 years. Dr. Praska loves ortho!
